Hey there I'm Cheri. I'm the founder of Thrive Eco Salon. If you've been a guest of our salon in the past - you know already it is my sanctuary. I created an Oasis for people to come to, to get away, to feel welcomed and truly feel beautiful inside and out when they leave. If you're in my chair it is ok to be you. I will find the beauty in each and every one of you and help you shine a little brighter. I love to catch up and truly get to know all of my guests; I love to hear all the latest and greatest, but you will rarely find me making a lot of small talk. I'm content letting you relax - for it is my creative space as well. I truly thrive off of continually educating myself and inspiring the team. I'm often off, taking advanced education to better my craft; I've travelled numerous times to L.A, New York, Seattle and Vancouver. With over 20 years experience, I have worked fashion shows and filming sets. With 10 years based in a high-end Vancouver salon, my guests love my confident approach in creating a style for their lifestyle, face-shape and personality. I specialize in dimensional colour and transformations, and I love a good before and after make over. In the salon you will often find me proudly behind the camera looking to capture that perfect shot of a team member's work.
When I'm not in the salon I'm enjoying time with my husband, 2 young children, and our family dog. We are often working on a home reno project, out camping or enjoying time outdoors. Come see me, I'd love to meet you and find the perfect look for you!
Hey I'm Jess! In 2006 I attended the hair program at Malaspina and loved it! My favourite hair-related thing to do is making creative hairpieces! I’ve always had a passion for avant garde styles and photoshoot work.
In 2009 I won Canadian avant garde stylist of the year. I was also a finalist in the Fantasy category/mirror awards in 2013. Created and organized a bridal collection for Great Lengths Hair Extensions Canada in 2020. My work has been published over the years in Hairdresser's Magazine, Salon Magazine, Today’s Bride Magazine, Elegant Wedding Magazine, Beaunu Magazine.
In my chair you’ll usually find us talking about movies, restaurants, happy hours, family or relationship updates. Visiting with my clients is something I look forward to everyday, my clients are like family and I cherish each of them and have such a special connection with them. There’s nothing better then making someone feel and look beautiful.
In my free time you’ll usually find me at cactus club happy hour with my sister Shelly, we work together and hang out all the time. I also spend a lot of time with my girlfriends and their babies, I have been blessed with so many littles in my life that call me Aunty. Quality time with my family is always very important, and I enjoy bubble baths and a glass of wine after a long day. The team we have at Thrive Eco Salon is something I will never take for granted, I genuinely enjoy every day I get to work alongside such talented and beautiful ladies/coworkers, who I’m also lucky enough to call friends.
Hey, I'm Shelly. One of my favourite parts of my job is building the relationships that I have with my clients. They say that you tell your hairdresser more than you tell your therapist or your partner. I really do take pride in creating a comfortable safe space for people to come to. My clients really do mean the world to me and I so look forward to going to work everyday to see and catch up with each and every one of them. If you do what you love you’ll never work another day in your life. I truly feel like I have found what I love and am passionate about it.
I am a momma of one: she is a beautiful, full of zest toddler. Our days consist of snuggling, going to the beach or park, watching one of her favourite shows and making pancakes together. I didn’t know how much I’d love being a mom but I do! When I get free time I try to see friends and family, I love music and dancing, enjoying the happy hour at Cactus and shopping with my sister Jessica, shopping makes us happy, it’s like therapy!
Hi there! I'm Sammy, I Started my career in hairstyling in 2018. I found my home at Thrive long before I started at VIU in the hairdressing program, being a long time client of Jessica's I knew Thrive is where I aspired to work. I love to do Balayage, love a good money piece and some loose waves to finish the style. Also extensions are life. I'm usually up to date on current reality TV, I'm a bit of a foodie and enjoy cooking and making Insta-worthy dishes. Spending time outside with my dog Chevy, supporting local restaurants and small businesses.
I think not a day goes by where I'm not saying how thankful I am to be where I am in life. I'm so thankful for Thrive and Cheri for taking a chance on me. I love going above and beyond for people and caring for others. I would do anything for friends and family. connecting with my clients and I get so excited for every single person to come in to the salon and make there experience positive.
Thrive Eco Salon was established in 2015 as a home-based hair salon located in Lantzville BC. We started as a team of 3 and with the amazing continued support from all of our guests we quickly maximized our capacity and outgrew our space.
In June, 2020 Thrive Eco Salon will relocate to the heart of Lantzville, moving into a newly renovated space that historically served as the community's general store since 1923.
The new Thrive Eco Salon is a luxury 6 chair hair studio. We strive to provide an intimate and relaxed environment: where our guest are part of the family, they feel comfortable, heard, and at home.
We choose to use products of the highest quality as the integrity of your hair is of the utmost important to us.
We value our guests as well as our planet: our products are made from renewable and sustainable resources, as well as naturally derived ingredients, and always animal cruelty free.
